FSC® staat voor Forest Stewardship Council® (Raad voor Goed Bosbeheer)
Het is een internationale organisatie die zich inzet voor het behoud van bossen. Een unieke organisatie: bedrijfsleven, natuur- en milieuorganisaties, ontwikkelingsorganisaties en vakbonden werken binnen FSC samen. Samen hebben zij regels opgesteld om hout te oogsten op een manier die niet ten koste gaat van de mensen, planten, dieren en andere bomen in en om het bos. Deze regels vormen samen de FSC certificatie eisen.
Hout afkomstig uit een FSC bos is dus een bijzonder product!
Er is rekening gehouden met behoud van biodiversiteit, bescher- ming van waterlopen, de lokale bevolking, de veiligheid van de bosarbeiders, etc. FSC gecertificeerde artikelen bieden dus vele voordelen voor het milieu. Deze artikelen zijn te herkennen aan het FSC-label.

C’est une organisation unique, au sein de laquelle collaborent des entreprises, des organisations de défense de la nature et de l’environnement, des organisations de développement et des syndicats. Ensemble, ils ont édicté des règles favorisant une production de bois responsable, sans nuire aux habitants, aux plantes, aux animaux, ni aux autres arbres dans et autour de la forêt. Ces règles constituent les exigences de base de la certification FSC.
